The owners of this historic bank building that had served as an art gallery for 20 years wanted to take its exhibit space to the next level – the roof. A new penthouse was added to the building and the existing circulation was extended to permit the expansion of the exhibit area to a new roof terrace. The new spiral stair deftly addresses modern code requirements while custom detailing throughout respects and extends the historic character of the space. The roof deck creates an elegant outdoor exhibit area and allows patrons to enjoy panoramic views of the city and harbor below.
